Day by Day
The shape of the 8 days.

01
Arrive Punta Arenas
Welcome briefing and crew dinner at the foot of the Magellan Strait. The expedition begins.

02
Fly to King George Island
Two-hour charter across the Drake. Board your small ship and sail into the Bransfield Strait at golden hour.

03
Deception Island
Step ashore inside the caldera of an active volcano. Steam rises from black sand beaches lined with chinstrap penguins.

04
Cuverville & Neko Harbour
Zodiac through brash ice past a slumbering leopard seal. Stand on the continent itself at Neko.

05
Lemaire Channel
The 'Kodak Gap' — a seven-mile passage where black peaks fall straight into mirror water.

06
Petermann Island
Gentoo and Adélie rookeries. Optional polar plunge for those who must.

07
Return to King George
A final morning landing, then sail north for the charter back to Patagonia.

Things you might ask
And the honest answers.
How fit do I need to be?
Moderate. You should be able to step into and out of a zodiac unaided and walk up to 3 km on uneven, sometimes icy terrain.
Is the Drake Passage really skipped?
Yes — the charter flight takes ~2 hours each way, weather permitting, replacing 4–5 days at sea.
When is the best time to go?
November through early March. December and January offer the longest daylight and most active wildlife.
